I was asked to lead out on Desert Song for church tomorrow. Desert Song is a beautiful song of worship from one of my favorites, Hillsong. I have worked on it and worked on it. I know the song, I was just having trouble memorizing the lyrics. These lyrics that are so deeply wrenching when explaining the greatness of God. Why was I not getting this? Well this morning at vocal practice Michael Ramirez showed us a story on youtube that ripped at me. One of Hillsongs worship leaders was giving her testimony of what happened to her prior to the live recording of the album. As I watched my tears fell. I watched it again tonight to keep reminding me that God, our God is in it. He is in everything. I was hit yet again with the words, “thank you God for keeping me humble…for keeping me focused on what is going to happen tomorrow.” God will show up whether I remember every word or not. Here is the video. Listen, reflect, and remember God is in it, always!

I saw this video from a friend on Twitter and I about got sick. You know it would be worth trying once but just once. Total taste bud meltdown! Wow!

Watch this one first…

Remembering Us

I decided to go through some of our old photos a few weeks ago. I was inspired by Janet Sutherland a while back but I just hadn’t had the time yet so finally I took the time. Digging through our photo box brought me back to really thinking about so many things. Most being the last 20 years Jerry and I have spent together and how incredibly fast time flies. I remembered the moment, the feeling I had when I first heard him sing. I remembered the butterflies in my stomach when I called him and asked him out! (yes I did ask him out) The nerves I felt when his dad answered the phone and I asked to speak to Jerry. The excitement that came over me when Jerry said he would go to the concert with me. I was 16 and had already hoped that I could have something great with this guy! I was right!
Sitting there in my living room floor for those hours were wonderful! Have you ever just sat and looked at old photos? Just really thinking about every memory and being thankful for moments, for the feelings, the laughter, the tears. I had a good cry looking our pictures. Us as young teenagers finding love for the first time, our engagement photos, our wedding photos, the photos of us in the hospital after our beautiful girls were born, the photos of us growing older as a family…I write this to encourage all of you to take a moment and go back and dig through old photos! It is such a rewarding experience! Take the time! I promise you will be glad you did!

A Christmas Funny

Cattle Crossing?

I’m sitting here at Texas Roadhouse eating lunch with Jerry and I just looked up and noticed this sign hung up right by the entrance of the women’s restroom. What are they trying to say…Rude!!!

Where has the time gone? Oh yeah! It has been put into the stage set for the Jim and Jim 2 Show! Seriously, since we started building the set it has been none stop craziness…but in a good way! It is nearly finished and the time has simply flown by! Hopefully by the end of next week it will be complete! So, to all of my family and friends who have been so patient through this madness…get ready for an ear full of me talking my head off since I haven’t had more than 10 minutes to say hi and bye for the past month….believe me when I say I have missed talking! Ha Ha!

I will post pictures of the finished set next week and I hope to be able to take more than this brief moment to start blogging like a crazy women!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Talk to you all very soon!!!

Saturday Jerry took me on date that will go down as one of my all time favorites!  He took me to see ABBA the Hits at Bass Hall in Ft. Worth.  It was simply amazing!  I wish so much that it was the original group (it was a tribute group) but let me just say we both were blown away!  The girls sounded spot on! The costumes! Crazy! It was as if Agnetha and Anni-Frid were right there on that stage reunited and singing their lungs out! For any of you who don’t know, I am a huge ABBA fan!  I have been since my parents first introduced me to their music when I was a little girl back in the 70’s. I use to pretend I was in the group. I was Agnetha…there…standing on an afgan (it was the stage), wearing my mom’s knee high brown boots, and using a hair brush for my microphone. Good times…Well, the original group will never tour again but it doesn’t matter. I saw ABBA…it was them on that stage…that little girl in me came out singing loud right along with that tribute group.  Jerry honey…mom and dad…ABBA…thank you for the music!

Jake

This past week our dog Jake got a bath and got to come inside at night.  On this particular evening the girls were exhausted and really wanted to sleep in the living room with him. We told them to go and make a bed and we would be in to tuck them in and say prayers when they were all ready. Time went by and we didn’t hear them talking any more so we went in to check on them.  This is what we found in our living room floor.  I guess when they said sleep in the living room with Jake they really meant make a bed for Jake so they could sleep on it with him. So precious! Jake loved every minute of it! He is such a great friend!dscf4045
