Thank You For the Music…

dscf40471dscf40513

Saturday Jerry took me on date that will go down as one of my all time favorites!  He took me to see ABBA the Hits at Bass Hall in Ft. Worth.  It was simply amazing!  I wish so much that it was the original group (it was a tribute group) but let me just say we both were blown away!  The girls sounded spot on! The costumes! Crazy! It was as if Agnetha and Anni-Frid were right there on that stage reunited and singing their lungs out! For any of you who don’t know, I am a huge ABBA fan!  I have been since my parents first introduced me to their music when I was a little girl back in the 70’s. I use to pretend I was in the group. I was Agnetha…there…standing on an afgan (it was the stage), wearing my mom’s knee high brown boots, and using a hair brush for my microphone. Good times…Well, the original group will never tour again but it doesn’t matter. I saw ABBA…it was them on that stage…that little girl in me came out singing loud right along with that tribute group.  Jerry honey…mom and dad…ABBA…thank you for the music!

Jake

This past week our dog Jake got a bath and got to come inside at night.  On this particular evening the girls were exhausted and really wanted to sleep in the living room with him. We told them to go and make a bed and we would be in to tuck them in and say prayers when they were all ready. Time went by and we didn’t hear them talking any more so we went in to check on them.  This is what we found in our living room floor.  I guess when they said sleep in the living room with Jake they really meant make a bed for Jake so they could sleep on it with him. So precious! Jake loved every minute of it! He is such a great friend!dscf4045

Halloween girls

Thought I would share what the girls were for Halloween this year.  Audrey wanted to be a little girl lion but still have a mane.  She totally understood that only boy lions have manes but come on look at how cute she! So I made her a tail and ears, decorated her shoes with fur, cut fingers out of gloves added fur and painted her nails black. Then came the make-up (which she didnt rub off all night…so proud) Presto….a lion!

Alanna decided on an 80’s glam rocker! She was fun! We got fake colored hair pieces and added them to her hair. Went all out on cutting up a shirt, adding leggings/spandex, spiked belt and nails painted black as well as super awesome blue and pink make-up! Just add guitar….she was perfect! She even through her fist up in the air one time and belted an 80’s rockin’ high note! Ha Ha! Perfect indeed!

Trick or Treat?

As you all know yesterday of course was Halloween. For the second year, our family went to Decatur to hand out candy at Steve and Jana Jones’.  We take things to hand out from the church which is always fun. Well, last night was full of fun and humor.  The kids started showing up and slowing it got really busy.  Once kids heard that the Jones’ were handing out footballs, it was on.  We had kids actually ask if they could have a football or we would get things like, “hey my little brother didn’t get a football.” His little brother did; he just wanted another one.  So, as we are passing out all of this stuff I am talking to kids by who they are dressed up as.  I would say, “well good evening Cinderella” or “hey Snoopy how is Charlie?” Then…up walks this boy dressed as Jason from Friday the 13th.  I’m just talking away…”good evening Jason…that machete sure is bloody…how many did you get tonight?” I was going all out and when he turned to walk away I hear him say (in a very upset tone), “my name’s not Jason.” I busted out laughing…poor little guy…I don’t guess he knew who he was dressed up as.  I’m thinking he was thinking his treat wasn’t a treat at all…some crazy woman kept calling him by the wrong name! Wonder what he told his parents?…
